How It Works
Good to Know: Hair Growth Cycle
Healthy hair go through a constant natural cycle of growth (anagen phase), transition (catagen phase), resting (where new hairs start forming beneath the surface, also known as the telogen phase) and release (exogen phase, where old hairs shed to make way for new hairs.) Sown extends the growth (anagen) phase but where your individual hairs are in this cycle will determine how soon you see results. This is why some people might start seeing results in week 2, whereas others don't until week 8!
Weeks 1-2
Lashes grow in natural cycles,meaning not every follicle is active at the same time. Some lashes are already growing, while others are resting or shedding. Because of this, early changes can vary from person to person. Depending on where your lashes are in their cycle when you begin, some people may notice small new hairs appearing within the first couple of weeks, while others may simply see their existing lashes looking healthier and stronger. Consistency at this stage helps support follicles as they re-enter the active growth phase.
Week 2-4
By weeks 2-4, more follicles begin entering the active growth phase (anagen). As this happens, new lashes start to emerge along the lash line. You may begin to see shorter, finer hairs filling in areas that previously looked sparse. This stage is when early density improvements often become noticeable. Where you see the most growth depends largely on where your lashes were in their cycle when you started using the serum.
Weeks 4-8
As more follicles move into the active growth phase, new hairs continue to emerge while earlier regrowth becomes longer and fuller. By weeks 4-8 and beyond, lashes typically appear fuller, more even, and more defined across the lash line to look more 'fanned out'. Continued consistency allows more follicles to synchronise into the growth phase over time, helping density and length gradually build. To maintain this length and fullness, ongoing use is recommended. Because lashes naturally shed and regrow in cycles, stopping use means new lashes will eventually return to their natural baseline length over time.
