12-Week Lash Journey with photos: From Ripped Out to Regrown

In December 2025, Paula H. accidentally pulled out lashes while curling them. She documented her experience with SOWN Root 1 through her week 12 checkpoint. Here are her photos and her story.

Most before and after photos show two moments. These selected checkpoints follow Paula's reported lash regrowth journey, from the accident to week 12.

Recorded December, 2025

She filmed it while it was still happening.

Paula, a creator from Canada, was filming a GRWM and curling her lashes when, she says, her ring-light fell. She flinched and ripped out her eyelashes. This is her journey to grow her lashes back, with SOWN.

By the time the camera stopped, she'd already started looking for a fix. Her first message to us was "I ripped out my eyelashes and I'm seeking a lash serum to help grow them back, can you help!?"

Paula's accident video went viral, knocking up over 30 million views across TikTok and Instagram. See her full journey at https://www.tiktok.com/@thisgirlpppaula.

The Protocol

Paula's routine with Root 1

She picked Root 1 for a simple reason: no prostaglandins, no hormones. Just peptides, vitamins, amino acids, and botanicals. Paula says she did one swipe along the top and bottom lash lines, morning and night. She kept it by her toothbrush so she wouldn't forget it!

She also wanted a prostaglandin-free serum she could make part of her ongoing routine.

Maintenance directions vary by serum. GrandeLASH-MD, which contains a prostaglandin analogue, directs daily use for a full 3 months, then every-other-day maintenance once the desired improvement is achieved. This is a reduced-frequency routine, not a three-month maximum or an instruction to stop. SOWN Root 1 is prostaglandin-free, and its directions call for twice-daily application to clean, dry skin.

Week 0

Week 0: Starting From Nothing

This is the baseline. You can see one of Paula's eyes looking a bit red after losing some of the lashes, with large gaps along the lash line, particularly in the middle of the lash line.

Week 4

Week 4: The First Real Sign

By week 4, Paula reported seeing growth along her lash line and the gaps filling in.

This is the first checkpoint with a ruler card alongside the growth she was noticing. She used the ruler to track her progress. It's the thing that turns "I think they're growing" into something she can compare over time.

Week 8

Week 8: Momentum

By week 8, Paula wasn't just documenting, she was tracking obsessively. "I actually couldn't believe my lashes had grown so much, not only after the accident but even more so than before!"

You can see both lash lines look fuller as well as longer.

Week 12

Week 12: The Full Circle

Not only did Paula notice all the existing lashes along the lash line getting longer, but she noticed new lashes too, not just in the gaps where hers were pulled out but in other areas, meaning her lash line looked more voluminous.

Why 12 Weeks

Lashes grow in cycles, not overnight. That is why we encourage giving your routine 12 weeks rather than judging it after three. Results vary person to person, and we back every bottle with a 90-day guarantee.

A quick note on transparency: Paula was a compensated partner for this journey, but she did reach out to us to be sent her serum. Every photo and video here was captured and submitted by her. This article presents selected checkpoints and replacement photos supplied for this update, rather than her complete archive.

One person's reported experience, not a controlled study. Results and timelines vary. Paula was a compensated partner. SOWN
